The short version
We use your info to plan, deliver, and set up your party. That's it. We NEVER sell your personal information, and we never will.
- We collect what we need to book and deliver your rentals: your name, phone, email, event address, and event details.
- Payments go through a secure payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- We only share your info with the tools that run our booking and payments, and only so they can do their job.
- Your mobile number is NEVER shared or sold for anyone else's marketing.
- Want to see, fix, or delete your info? Text, call, or email us and it's done.
The rest of this page has the details. Mum's The Word Events & Rentals LLC is a small, woman-owned business in Frederick, Maryland. "We" and "us" means us. "You" means you, the person planning something beautiful.

What info do we collect?
Only what we need to make your event happen. Here's exactly what that looks like:

Planning a kid's party? You might tell us your little one's name or age so we can get the details right. We only use that for your event, and we don't collect info directly from children.
How do we use it?
To take care of you and your event. Specifically, we use your info to:
- Check availability, send quotes, and confirm your booking
- Deliver, set up, and pick up your rentals at the right place and time
- Process payments, retainers, and balances
- Text or call you about your order, changes, and day-of updates
- Handle damage assessments under our rental terms
- Send you a quick follow-up after your event, like a Google review request
- Send you seasonal news or booking reminders (and you can say no anytime)
- Keep our website running smoothly and see which pages are actually helpful
- Keep records we're legally required to keep, like tax and payment records
Who do we share it with?
Real talk: we do NOT sell your personal information. We don't trade it, rent it, or hand it to other businesses for their marketing. Ever.
We only share what's needed with the tools and people that help us run things:
- Booqable, the platform that powers our website, online booking, and order records
- Our payment processor, Stripe, to securely handle your payments
- Our team members, who see your event details only so they can deliver and set up
- Our phone and email providers, so we can actually text you back
- Professionals like our accountant or attorney, when needed to run the business
- The law, if we're legally required to share something, like a valid court order
These companies are only allowed to use your info to do their job for us. If we ever sold or merged the business, your info would transfer under this same policy, and we'd let you know.
What about text messages?
Texting is how most of our clients reach us, so here's exactly how we handle it.
- When you text us or give us your number, we'll text you about your inquiry, quote, booking, and delivery.
- We'll only send promo texts (like seasonal booking reminders) if you've agreed to get them.
- Reply STOP anytime to stop texts. Reply HELP for help, or just call us at 301-276-4939.
- Message and data rates may apply. How often we text depends on your order.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Your number is used ONLY by us, for you.
Does the website use cookies?
Yes, a few. Cookies are tiny files that help the site remember things, like what's in your cart.
- Essential cookies keep the cart, checkout, and booking working. The site needs these.
- Analytics cookies show us which pages people visit, so we can make the site more helpful.
- Marketing cookies help us show our ads to people who've visited our site.
You can change your choices anytime with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of this page, or in your browser settings. Turning off essential cookies may break online booking, but you can ALWAYS text or call to book instead.
Do you post photos from my event?
We LOVE showing off a beautiful setup, so we may snap photos of our rentals after we set up. We focus on the tables, chairs, and decor, not your guests. We will NOT post photos that show faces, kids, or your home's address without asking you first. Want zero photos of your event? Just tell us and we won't take any.
How long do you keep my info?
Only as long as we need it. Booking and payment records are kept for up to 7 years for tax and legal reasons. Gate codes and access notes are deleted after your event. Job applications are kept for up to 1 year.
How do you keep it safe?
Our booking and payment systems use encryption, and only people who need your info can see it. No system is 100% perfect, but we take protecting your info seriously. If something ever went wrong, we'd tell you as required by law.
What are my choices?
It's YOUR info. Just ask and we'll:
- Show you what info we have about you
- Fix anything that's wrong
- Delete your info (except records we're legally required to keep)
- Stop sending you promo emails or texts
Text, call, or email us and we'll take care of it within 45 days, usually WAY sooner. We may confirm it's really you first. If we can't do something, we'll explain why, and you can ask us to take another look.
Is your site for kids?
Our site is for grown-ups planning parties. We don't knowingly collect info from children under 13. If you think a child sent us info, let us know and we'll delete it.
Will this policy change?
Sometimes, as our business or the law changes. We'll update the effective date at the top, and if it's a big change, we'll make it clear on the site.
